The Town of Beekman will be celebrating  The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial or "America 250" Events will take place throughout the year, with many events already in the planning stages.Check back each month for that month's event.

The Senior Center is open Mondays and Thursdays  from 10am-2pm.   This is a wonderful place to bring a friend or make one. It is an opportunity to get out of the house, share good company and experience many wonderful activities and events. Participants play cards, Scabble, Pokeno, make crafts, and more.  Coffee/tea and snacks are served at no charge.All are encouraged to bring lunch.  In addition to regular center activities, their are seasonal parties and tripsInterested Seniors should register with the Rec Office.  Participation in the Center is free to Beekman residents 62 and over.  Individuals under 62 and any non residents pay a fee of $3.00 per day.

Increase muscle strength and range of movement, and improve activities for daily living. You’ll have a chair for seated exercises and standing support. Your instructor can modify the exercises for your fitness level.You MUST register for class, see below

Chair YogaBeekman residents ONLYChair Yoga classes are designed to increase flexibility, balance and strength through range of motion exercises,  stretching and relaxation practices. Senior Chair Yoga will incorporate all of the aspects of a gentle practice while either seated or standing holding on to the chair for stability.  It is modified for this group to increase strength, flexibility and reduce stress, while practicing in a safe supportive environment.  The benefits of yoga as we age are endless.  Whether you are big, small, old, young, serious, goofy, flexible or not.  Yoga begins where YOU are.  Not where you were yesterday or where your neighbor is.  Every BODY is different and you can find YOUR best Self in Yoga.  Our instructor is Toni Caravello , who has been teaching yoga since 2004.    She celebrates the beauty of individuality; students come to class with individual goals, strengths and challenges. She strives to create an atmosphere where all feel welcome, safe and supported. Communication is essential!  Everyone is welcome!  Although, advice from your physician is never a bad idea.
